Trivia and Quotes Quotes Mrs. Hilyard: [slowly realizing] Oh, dear Lord... I am... a monster! George L. Brady Jr.: Repent! Repent! Mrs. Hilyard: When will we go back to the gods of our childhood? Randall: [to George] We`re gonna kill you. First you, then the pig... and then, the human being [above, Mrs. Hilyard screams] Mrs. Hilyard: I am a human being. A feeling, thinking, human being. Randall: [mocking] Okay. I am all animal. Sure beats the hell outta being an inmate... Mrs. Hilyard: [shudders] ... inmate?... Asylum? Trivia Although he had made an appearance in Irma la Douce (1963), this was James Caan`s first credited feature film role after getting his start with sporadic television parts. The fate of Ann Sothern`s character is never revealed. At one point, she is locked in a closet and never seen again. Joan Crawford was reportedly offered Olivia de Havilland`s role first but turned it down because she`d just played a victimized invalid in What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?
