In response to Lynette: I agree about Hans Matheson being very lovely and charismatic but I violently disagree that he is irresistible as Alec. Alec is a rapist, cheat and an absolute cad - certainly not irresistible in my eyes. Everything he says or does in Tess of the d`Urbervilles is absolutely despicable.
