Music is the thing that keeps me going. It`s my sanity.

I set my place when I was 8 and I did my first film. I have always known myself and been comfortable with myself, and that`s eliminated teenage problems for me.

I had a bunch of people stay over, and in the morning my mom was going to make us pancakes but we had to go to the supermarket to get some stuff. We passed the magazines and they said "Let`s see if we can find David in the magazines." They found me in two of them. They decided to walk around saying to people, "Do you know this guy in this magazine? There he is," and completely brought me out to the whole supermarket.

I`ve had some really intense moments with fans. I`ve had groups of girls try to rip my clothes off. That`s not the right way to get an autograph. It`s the way to get me to run. I had girls knocking on my door saying, `Hi, is David around?`. My dad would think it was a friend and come get me, but I`d be like, `Who the hell are you?`.

I can`t not be "flashy"! People are always giving me a hard time about my flashy watch and sunglasses.

We always had a great sense of humor about the scripts [on 7th Heaven]. But at the end of the day, we always took it seriously because there was a core of fans in the middle of the country who really loved it. Lots of kids are like, `Oh, that show is lame,` but I`m proud to have been a part of it no matter how uncool it was.

Sadly, my first kiss, ever, was on television. The entire world saw my little, dorky, awkward person try to kiss a girl for the first time. I was so scared!

People always expect me to be like Simon, but I`m not. Sometimes he`s so good I don`t even want to say my lines!

I do hip-hop as a hobby. I know all of the Missy Elliot video moves.

It`s strange how people come up to me and treat me like they`ve known me for years, and I have no clue who they are. Everyone thinks they know me, but it`s more like they know my character [Simon]. Which, of course, I put a lot of me into; but he`s not me [and that`s not] the way I act.

I`m more into beats than rhymes. I`m a huge fan of anything touched by the Neptunes. Dancing is kind of my thing. I go out with my friends as often as I can on the weekends, and I`m always drawn to girls with rhythm.
