Walton Sanders Goggins, Jr. (born November 10, 1971) is an American actor. He was a regular on the FX Networks series The Shield, portraying "Detective Shane Vendrell". Goggins was producer of the 2001 short film The Accountant, which won an Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film. While Goggins was not officially listed as a winner, he did go up during the ceremony and accept the award alongside Ray McKinnon and Lisa Blount. Goggins was born in Birmingham, Alabama, and raised in Lithia Springs, Georgia, where his grandmother owned a small village post office. At the age of 10, Goggins and his mother were the statewide champion cloggers, otherwise known as Mountain Dancing. When B.B. King was on tour, Goggins and his mother opened for him at the Atlanta Fulton County Prison.
