Short Biography

Stephanie`s rise to fame as a model began early on when she was 14 years old as she entered the Elite`s "Look of the Year" contest. She got her first big break during modeling for the famous magazine Sports Illustrated, but her major break was her first shooting for the Playboy magazine in 1991, only four months after her first child was born. Her second Playboy shooting followed at the beginning of 1993. Stephanie soon became a regular catwalk woman, having modeled haute couture and prêt-a-porter clothing everywhere from Europe to the United States. Stephanie also owes her fame to Victoria`s Secret, the prestigious mail-order catalog that made her star too. In 2000 after more then 9 years she has finally retired from Victoria`s Secret. Stephanie has worked and works with the worlds famous photographers. Photographer Richard Avedon singled out Stephanie as the most interesting and powerful model he has ever photographed. In the early 1990 she dated with the Rockstar Axl Rose (1991 - 1993) and appeared in two music videos for his Band Guns`n Roses in songs "Don`t cry" and "November Rain". In addition, she also appeared in a live action video game called Hell with Dennis Hopper. In October 1998 Stephanie released her first book entitled "Stephanie Seymour`s Beauty Secrets for Dummies" (a IDG books publication). Stephanie also plays a small role in the "Pollock" movie. The film was released in february 2001 in the USA. In April 2002 she published together with the german photographer Juergen Teller a collection of intimate portraits shot over two-and-a-half years at her homes in Connecticut, New York, and Miami Beach, called: More. Today she has her own lingerie collection and is living in New York and California with husband Peter M. Brant (married in July 1995) and their four children Dylan, Peter, Harry and Lilly. Stephanie is still one of the top models in the world, having appeared on hundreds of magazine covers. She calls herself: a Model, a mother but mainly just a normal girl.
