Short BiographyRachel Anne Griffiths (born 18 December 1968) is an Australian Golden Globe- and SAG Award-winning, Academy Award-nominated and Emmy Award-nominated film and television actress known primarily for her roles in movies and television. Among her many notable roles, she is best known for her portrayal of Brenda Chenowith in the TV series Six Feet Under (2001–2005) and Sarah Walker on the ABC primetime drama Brothers & Sisters (2006–present).Griffiths married Australian artist Andrew Taylor on 31 December 2002 at her old high school Star of the Sea College in Gardenvale (Melbourne). In June 2000, she explained her religious background and beliefs to Madison magazine. "Although I`m not Christian, I was raised Christian. I`m an atheist, with a slight Buddhist leaning. I`ve got a very strong sense of morality -- it`s just a different morality than the loud voices of the Christian morality...I can`t tell you how many films I`ve turned down because there was an absence of morality. And I don`t mean that from any sort of Judeo-Christian/Muslim point of view. I`m not saying they`re wrong and can`t be made. But, fundamentally, I`m such a humanist that I can`t bear to make films that make us feel humanity is more dark than it is light." Biography Credit: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rachel_Griffiths |
