Short BiographyLindsay Jean Wagner was born in Los Angeles on June 22, 1949 to Marilyn and Bill Wagner. When she was seven years old, her parents divorced and her mother moved with her to Eagle Rock. Later they moved to Portland Oregon with step-father Ted Ball. At 13 years of age, Lindsay Wagner began dance studies, from ballet to jazz. She also dabbled in modeling and singing briefly. Her mentor suggested that she study to be an actress, and she took to it immediately.Although she had been guest starring in tv shows as well as the move The Paper Chase in 1973, her big move was with a sci-fi fantasy role in 1974. She was only to do a two-part special as Jamie Sommers, girlfriend to "The Six-Million Dollar Man" Lee Majors. When she was severely injured in a skydiving accident, she was rebuilt using bionic parts. However, her body rejected the operations and she died. Public outcry was so immediate and overwhelming, however, they quickly found a loophole and wrote her back in in 1975 as "The Bionic Woman" until the show was canceled in 1978. By this time her skill and beauty had caught many eyes and her tv future was set. She proceeded to undertake a tidal wave of made-for-TV movies and miniseries, starring in at least 30 of them. The Bionic Woman netted her an Emmy award in 1976. It also netted her a TV Land award and two Golden Globe nominations.
