Short BiographyAt the age of 16, Carré embarked on a career as a professional model. From 1988-1992 she was one of the top models in the fashion industry.Carré appeared on the cover of every major fashion magazine including Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire and Harper`s Bazaar. She also modeled for GQ, Sports Illustrated, Playboy and the 1996 Pirelli calender. At the height of her career Carré appeared in campaigns for Guess Jeans (1988) and Calvin Klein (1991). In 1989, Carré appeared in the film `Wild Orchid` opposite Mickey Rourke. The film was controversial because it featured an un-simulated sex scene between the two stars. Carré married Rourke in 1992. Due to her substance abuse and turbulent marriage, Carré`s career spiraled downward. Her issues with addiction and anorexia led to serious health issues including heart seizures. As a result, she gained weight and enjoyed a new career as a plus-size model. She appeared in campaigns for Max Mara`s high end Marina Rinaldi line and Mode Magazine. |
