Susan Flannery Biography

Susan Flannery (born July 31st, 1939) is a Golden Globe- and four time Daytime Emmy Awards-winning American soap opera actress. She is perhaps best known for portraying Stephanie Forrester on the CBS Daytime soap opera, The Bold and The Beautiful.

Flannery is known for playing Dr. Laura Spencer Horton on Days of Our Lives from 1966 until 1975 where she meet writer and daytime legend William J. Bell. She appeared in the 1974 film The Towering Inferno and the `76 film The Gumball Rally. She also appeared on the primetime television series Dallas as Leslie Stewart during season four (1980-1981) as well as opposite Kirk Douglas in The Moneychangers. She has also worked alongside Michael Jaffe as a producer.
Today, Flannery is known worldwide for portraying Stephanie Douglas Forrester on the American soap opera The Bold and The Beautiful. She is one of four original cast members still appearing on the series, along with Katherine Kelly Lang, John McCook and Ronn Moss. Flannery is also a regular director on the show, and has twice been nominated for a Directors Guild of America Award for her work.

Susan appeared in two episodes of ABC`s sitcom, Hope & Faith in 2004. She appeared with other well-known actors from rival soaps, and appeared as a special guest in Good News Week.

She also appeared in a special episode of Wheel of Fortune with Deidre Hall (Marlena, DAYS) and Peter Bergman (Jack, Y&R) in 2006.

She directed the October 13th, 2008 episode of Guiding Light.

Flannery has a daughter Blaise, born in the mid 1980s. Flannery`s interests including sailing, flying, cooking dinner for friends and traveling. She currently lives in Santa Barbara, California.

A life long friend and I were stating, ONCE again, that Susan Flannery is one of the most talented and beautiful actresses around. Would love to see her on the big screen or night time movies! She is superb, and exquisite.
