 It`s pretty clear from the more than 60,000 pages of documents that have been released that John Roberts has a great sense of humor. In this memo, he offers a lawyer joke. After watching Kerry`s shift from voting for the Iraq war to being an `anti-war` candidate to being `proud` of voting for our troops before he voted against them, veterans ... are unlikely to trust John Kerry to lead the men and women currently in uniform. John Kerry`s shifting positions, his contradictions, his pessimism and his hopeless rhetoric send the wrong message to our troops, to our allies, to our enemies and to the world. Even in the face of continued good news, Kerry clings to his message of gloom and doom, supporting it with twisted statistics. Kerry`s complaints about a middle class squeeze are out of touch with the reality that home sales hit a record high last month, college tuition increases slowed and consumer confidence is rising. John Kerry`s attacks today were baseless. He said American troops did not secure the explosives, when the explosives were already missing. Kerry`s words will ring hollow in light of the fact that he helped block the president`s energy bill to increase America`s energy independence through more renewable energy usage. Kerry`s economic policies would raise taxes on minority small-business owners, whose numbers are steadily increasing as a result of the President`s pro-growth policies. Under President Bush`s leadership, a majority of minority families are homeowners for the first time in history. Kerry`s statements to Dubuque voters make it clear that he will say anything to anyone at any time if he thinks it will help him score political points. Hopefully, these letters do not signal the abandonment of a dignified process by the Democrats. Kerry`s sham economic indicator says that our economy was better under Jimmy Carter than under Ronald Reagan, a deception few Ohioans are likely to believe. | ||
