Silvana Maria Escócio Drummond Viana de Faria Ditcham was born in Rio Branco, Acre on the far eastern side of Brazil in the Amazon rain forest to a Brazilian father of Scottish and Portuguese origin and a mother of Munduruku Indian origin, the youngest of ten children. In 1976 her family moved to Belém on the far Western side of Brazil where the Amazon meets the Atlantic. After initial studies in Law, in Brazil she moved to Paris to study History at the Sorbonne and the History of Art at "L`École du Louvre". She went on to act in several films including a participation in John Boorman’s "The Emerald Forest". Music, modelling and writing have also played a big part in her life. The last ten years have been spent in London where she has completed a book and screenplay based on the true story of a bandit called `Lampião` who operated in Northern Brazil in the early 1900`s and a book of children stories based on Brazilian legends. She is also involved in photography and video making.
