Name of his son: Jim (born January 1978)

His hit music video for "Addicted to Love" was memorable for its expressionless, slick-haired, identical-looking models who played as his back up band. A similar look was carried on through his videos for "Simply Irresistable" and "I Didn`t Mean To Turn You On". But the original concept was later parodied in several other music videos, including Sam Kinison`s "Wild Thing", Paula Abdul`s "Forever Your Girl" where little girls were shown playing the part, `Weird Al` Yankovic`s "UHF" where the women additionally sported mustaches and glasses, and Shania Twain`s "Man, I Feel Like A Women" which used male models.
His first big break into the music business was a stint as lead singer for The Alan Bown Set in the late sixties.
He was known for his soulful voice and the eclectic mix of musical styles on his albums, combining soul, jazz, rock, pop and blues.
