Noel Ashman is a nightclub owner/real estate investor/film/theatre producer/actor.
Already well-known for his events around the city, he decided to open his first club in 1997 named, Veruka, which quickly gained notoriety for its strict door policy and celebrity clientele. Veruka was open from January 1997 to June 2004. It was one of the first clubs to have bottle service. Noel Ashman hung out extensively in Europe and brought the idea of bottle service over from European nightclubs . During the years that Veruka was in operation, it saw big-name celebrites go through its doors such as, Sean Penn, Ben Affleck, Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Wahlberg, Cuba Gooding Jr., Nicholas Cage, Debbie Harry, Dennis Leary, Martin Sheen Sarah Jessica Parker, and was a constant hangout of The New York Yankees. Right after Veruka, he briefly owned Studio 54. He then followed up by buying the old Nell’s space along with partners, Chris Noth, Samantha Ronson, Damon Dash, Jesse Bradford among others. He ran NA and The Plumm at 246 West 14th Street from 2004 to 2009. Axl Rose and Tommy Hilfiger also had a fight at The Plumm, which was covered by several tabloids and gossip columns.
Ashman has production credits on several films and occasional acting credits.
He was the associate producer for Speedway Junky, which starred Jesse Bradford and Daryl Hannah. He was the co=producer on The Atrocity Exhibition, one of the writers being J.G. Ballard He was also a co-producer for Never Again which Eric Schaeffer wrote and directed and was an executive producer for Mind the Gap (2004 film). On the theater side of things he co-produced the off Broadway play by David Rabe, The Dog Problem (play).
He is a co-owner of the production company Co-op.
He has credits for acting in Mind the Gap (2004 film) and Never Again and special producing credits for The Guitar, Carlito’s Way: Rise to Power and Bounce: Behind the Velvet Rope.
In addition, he has done several events for: Sephora, Charlotte Ford, Juquar...just to name a few.
