Country Singer. She was a child star who was able to parlay early success into a long career. Raised in a succession of places...first in Beltbuckle, Tennessee, then Tucson...she first attracted attention after her family moved to Los Angeles when she was 10. She auditioned for Rex Allen, and became a regular on his local radio show, then on television`s Hometown Jamboree. She appeared frequently on the Pinky Lee Show, and, at 13, signed with Capitol Records. In 1952, she had her first, and probably still biggest, hit "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus". Later successes were to include "Young Romance", "5 Points of a Star", and "Don`t Look Back". Miss Bee sang the duet "Don`t Start Courtin` in a Hot Rod Ford" with Tennessee Ernie Ford in 1953, and became a frequent guest on his daytime television show. In the 1960s, she branched out into film and stage performance; her movies included "Chartroose Caboose" (1960) and "The Young Swingers" (1963). She became a regular in Las Vegas, and toured with Bob Hope`s USO shows. Miss Bee dropped from view in the late 1960s, but re-emerged with "Good Golly Ms. Molly" in 1975. Her final album, "Sounds Fine To Me", was released in 1982. Her personal life was sometimes turbulent...she married at least five times...but she continued frequent concert performances. From the early 1990s, she ran her own restaurant and night club in Oceanside, California. She often said "I`ve done it all, and lived to tell about it".
