 He`s given us a wonderful platform so, with that, I want to use that to bring glory to God. My goal is that my legacy will be stronger off the field than on the field when I leave Kansas City, and leave this Earth. I feel God has blessed us ballplayers with the ability to throw a ball, hit a ball, catch a ball and to play the game of baseball at a level that only a few can play in the world, If we can get this guy`s brain to work with his body, he`ll be special for a long time. I got to play in his home country, in the stadium that was named after him and I know he was one of the best, if not the best, Latin American ballplayers of all time, That was probably the most touching moment of silence I`ve stood through. We are embarrassed. We`re hurting in here, and we should be. He`s a cross between Tom Seaver and Jeff Spicoli, ... Fast Times at Ridgemont High. We wanted to pull this one out for Skipper, with the pain he`s going through. It`s not like we`re incapable of winning. We`re just in a rut right now. It`s a big rut, though. We still only have 39 wins, but every person on the roster was into the game from the first pitch on. We were coming off the bench giving high-fives. We had a good shot in the arm of life. The win was a big part of that. | ||
