Discovered on the street for "Zabriskie Point".
After filming, donated his $60K from the filming to the guru of the 100-member Fort Hill commune. In 1973, he was caught robbing a bank in Boston with two other commune members. The robbery was to make a political statement. Mark was caught with a revolver. However, the gun had no bullets. Found dead in jail by a fellow inmate in the recreation area with a 150 pound barbel resting on his neck. |

Donated his $60,000 earnings from _Zabriskie Point (1970)_ to a commune. Died at age 27. Died in weight room at Massachusetts Correctional Institution with a 150-pound weight bar pressed against his throat. Ruled an accident.
