 It`s been certainly more than a job, it`s been giving me a charmed life, ... If I could`ve dreamt what the outcome of my career would`ve been when I`d auditioned 20 years ago, you know, I would have never believed it. It`s just given me the greatest blessings and gifts and rewards and challenges. It`s really been quite a trip. It`s typical Robbins in that it`s beautiful and as enjoyable to watch as it is to dance, ... It`s so rewarding. Everything I`ve ever danced of his, I`ve just enjoyed so much, and I feel like they`ve made me a better artist. Another fascinating aspect, ... is that it can be a completely different ballet depending on who`s dancing it. It`s so simple but it`s so revealing, and it can tell such completely different stories. It happens pretty frequently and in the most random places, ... It hasn`t changed my life at all, but it`s added a nice, fun element to it. It was sort of something that I had wanted to do, but it was a surprise, ... It`s a very interesting essay on people and how they approach their work, and how they approach each other, and how they see themselves. Kevin [McKenzie, ABT`s artistic director] has sort of brought `Afternoon of a Faun` into the rep as a little present for me for my 20th anniversary, I`m probably a lot different. It`s just the difference between being 16 and being 36. It`s huge. One is a teenager and the other is a real adult. Obviously I`m a better dancer, a better artist. I was not one of those child prodigies. | ||
