Jody Lee Latham (born 1 January 1982 in Burnley) is an English actor and television presenter, best known for his role as Phillip "Lip" Gallagher in the British series Shameless. Latham was born in Burnley, Lancashire on New Year`s Day 1982, and after leaving primary school attended Park High school, Colne and Walton high school in Nelson, Lancashire . He made his television debut in 2000 as "Nelson Catchpole" in the series Big Meg, Little Meg. He played Lee, one of the key characters on When I Was 12 in 2001. Latham attended Park High school in Colne until being expelled a few weeks later for fighting with another pupil. He the moved to attend Walton High School in Nelson Lancashire, from where he was expelled for arson. After being expelled from high school, Latham attended Nelson Youth Centre on Leeds Road in Lancashire. Latham has a son, Jack, who was born in Latham`s late teens. His Shameless character also had a child as a teenager. In 2006, Latham was cautioned by Lancashire police for possession of cannabis.
