Jocelyn Lane Bolton (born May 16, 1937 in Vienna, Austria) is a model and actress active in the 1960s who was married to Prince Alfonso of Hohenlohe-Langenburg.
Lane was born to British parents. She was the younger sister of Mara Lane who was active as a model in the United Kingdom at the time. Her father was a corporate executive, and as a child she accompanied him on his travels throughout Europe and North Africa. She also studied ballet at Sadler`s Wells Ballet of London.
Lane soon established herself as a popular model in the UK by the time she was 18, using the pseudonym Jackie Lane. Appearing in hundreds of magazines internationally, she soon outshined her older sister`s success and was heralded as the "British Bardot." When she began appearing in motion pictures she was confused with another actress named Jackie Lane (known for starring in Doctor Who), and when Lane moved to Hollywood in 1964, she began to be credited with her full first name.
In 1965, she co-starred with Elvis Presley in Tickle Me and later appeared in several more supporting roles in Hollywood films as well as guest appearances on American television series. Lane`s often aloof, haughty screen persona did not endear her to US audiences, however, and after retiring from the screen in 1971, she married Prince Alfonso of Hohenlohe-Langenburg of Marbella, Spain on May 3, 1973 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Two years after her marriage, Jocelyn Lane gave birth to her first and only child, Princess Arriana Theresa Mara von Hohenlohe (partly named in honor of her sister, Mara Lane), on October 15, 1975. Her 13-year marriage to Prince Alfonso ended in divorce in 1985.
Lane`s hobbies include interior decorating and women`s fashions. In the 1960s, she remodeled the bathroom in her Hollywood home for approximately $10,000. Today she is a successful designer of feather necklaces, and is the creator of the "Princess J Feather Collection," being marketed in California and London.
