Jessica Elizabeth Tovey (born November 10th, 1987) is an Australian actress. Tovey is best known for her role as Belle Taylor on the long-running Australian soap opera Home and Away from 2006-2009.
Tovey graduated from Newton High School of the Performing Arts, where she appeared in a number of stage productions. She was a part of the New South Wales State Drama Company and played numerous theatre roles, including the lead in a New Theatre Production of Seven Little Australians. Tovey has played numerous of roles at Australian Theatre for Young People and has had roles in drama festivals and in The Global Shakespeare Festival. In 2005 she played the role of Nadine in the children`s program Wicked Science. After completing her schooling, Tovey joined the cast of Home and Away in 2006. She played the part of Belle Taylor until mid-2009. For her portrayal of the character, Tovey was nominated for Most Popular New Female Talent at the 2007 Logie Awards. In October 2009, Tovey appeared as a guest actor in an episode of Rescue: Special Ops on the Nine Network.
Tovey was born in Sydney, and is the daughter of author Libby Gleeson, while her father is a scientist from New Zealand. As of March 2009, Tovey`s partner was Dave Rennick, co-frontman of Sydney-bassed band, Dappled Cities.
