Jerry Tucker Biography

Jerry Tucker is a former American child actor, most notable for appearing as the "rich kid" in the Our Gang short subjects series semi-regularly from 1931 to 1938. He also appeared as one of Mother Peep`s children in the 1934 Hal Roach film Babes in Toyland featuring Laurel & Hardy.

Tucker went on to serve in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He later went on to marry his wife Myra and have a long successful career with RCA before retiring. He had two daughters, Karen and Renee, and Three Granddaughters. He also has three great-grandchildren.

Tucker is one of the few living Our Gangers from the original series. Other surviving members are Jackie Cooper, Dorothy DeBorba, Dickie Moore, Mickey Gubitosi, and Jackie Lynn Taylor.

I had the pleasure of meeting Jerry Tucker at Cinefest 27 in Syracuse, NY, in 2007, where he was Guest of Honor. He presented a slide presentation covering his earliest pictures and entertained us with anecdotes about the stars he worked with during his movie career.
