 My goal in this all along was to have photographers unite in something meaningful. They were dying to. It was amazing. We actually had more photographers than we could use. It is past time for the state to act to get these weapons off the streets, and Illinois should set an example for Indiana to follow. The gun lobby`s leaders said today in Springfield that banning assault weapons would injure Illinois economically to the tune of $150 million and cost the state 750 jobs. Are Illinois residents really buying $150 million a year worth of assault weapons? If so, I urge the Legislature to move as quickly as possible on this proposal, because we have a bigger problem than we realized. Gun violence victims in the state are very excited and grateful for his candidacy. We cannot imagine much that could be more positive for Illinois families than getting Dan, and others like him, into the Legislature. There were a lot of like-minded people who came together. | ||
