Ida Ljungqvist was Playboy`s Playmate of the Month for March 2008. Ida was born in Tanzania to a Swedish father and a Tanzanian mother, making her the first playmate born in Africa. Ida was discovered by 2007 Playmate of the Year Sara Jean Underwood at a Bebe clothing boutique on Rodeo Drive.

Due to her father`s work for UNICEF, Ida traveled much as a child: in Africa she has lived in Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, South Africa, Zimbabwe; in Asia, in Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand; in Europe, in France, the U.K., Sweden, and Denmark, and currently, in the United States, in California. She speaks English, Swedish, and Swahili. Ida has earned a degree in fashion design and marketing, and plans to study economics.
