Distinctive Features
Before forming the Coldplay at University College London, Berryman was part of a band called Time Out, while still studying in school.

Berryman was born in Kirkcaldy, Fife, Scotland but moved to Kent, England at twelve years old. Four years later, began to play the bass. The musician grew up amidst the sound and funk Groove and still collects rare recordings of these styles.

Ambitions
In 2004, he married Joanna Briston, his childhood sweetheart in a ceremony reserved. She manages a clothing store called Jezebelle in London. The recent opening of the store was the prestigious fellow banda Jonny and Will and their companions. A clothing store had to be closed after some time because of the large number of debts.

Guy was never a sportsman during his school life, and never liked sports. He spent time playing trumpet in school band and battery on school.

His father is an engineer and worked in the tunnel that connects England to France, and currently works with Adrian Hemming. Following in the footsteps of his father, Guy also chose engineering as his course. He later would find the course very difficult and eventually switching to architecture. But would also abandon this course a year later to dedicate to the bass in Coldplay. While his fellow band still continued their graduations, Guy worked as a bartender in a local pub.
Friends and Family
Guy and Joanna have one daughter, Nico, born September 17, 2006. According to English newspaper The Mirror (edition March 2007), he and his wife have separated after three years.

The lyrics [singer Chris Martin] writes are more basic than that, more basic, emotional ideas rather than life experiences.
