 Left the movie industry in 1964 (apart from occasional filmings) to become a writer. Survivors include two sons, David and Tomas Lampell.
Graduated from high school in 1939.
Born to Edvard Dahlbeck, a secretary, and his wife Greta Österberg.
Attended the Dramatens elevskola, the Royal Dramatic Theater`s drama school, from 1941 to 1944.
Was awarded the Eugene O`Neill Award, one of Sweden`s most important theater awards in 1961.
Started writing in the 1960s, publishing several novels and poems in Sweden.
