 When we`d bring something to him, he`d just start firing questions, and you`d really have to know your stuff. The Atlanta metro climate for dance is not strong. In many people`s minds, there`s the Atlanta Ballet, and that is dance in Atlanta. They`re not aware of the diversity and excitement dance-wise. At the time, there was a group in town called VSA Arts, and they wanted to launch classes for people with disabilities. I attended a workshop they were conducting and was asked to teach lessons. I fell in love with dance. It combines the artistry with discipline and the repetition that always appealed to the part of me that craves structure. It was a perfect match for what I wanted to be. We run the same defense as Western. It`s basically just a get-together for all the coaches. We`ve proven we can compete, now it`s a matter of taking the next step and winning a game or two. I certainly don`t think we`re going in worrying about anything. They had a good purpose. We were pretty solid offensively, and when they took shots, we put a body on somebody. When there were loose balls, we were flying after them. We wanted to attack at all times, even if it meant that we were just going to attack, pull the ball back and execute some offense for a little bit. So be it. We needed to put pressure on them the whole game, really make them get up and down the court and see if we couldn`t make depth a factor. I have always wanted an exciting program for our folks here. I wanted something, something for our folks other than bingo. We have a lot of programs here. | ||
