 [Comment:] I don’t think anybody is going to be concerned with where we are ranked, ... It all comes down to potential and if potential turns into performance then we can live up to those expectations. If we don’t perform well we won’t live up to them - with that really not being an option. I think our offensive line is as good as any in the Atlantic 10. Their continuity is extremely important to our success. He certainly lived up to expectations [in the scrimmage]. He missed the first one, but from then on, he was special. It`s nice to be able to put the ball down on the 25 [yard line] and in and know that you have a good shot at three points. When you have eight turnovers and you have the ball at mid-field with a minute and forty to go and you have a chance to win the game, that`s interesting in itself. It shows the type of effort we got from all the guys and we never gave up, we kept competing. [Day] is the incumbent. He`s doing a good job. Liam is certainly working hard and doing a quality job at times, and Taylor Humphrey is certainly better now than he was in the spring.... We can continue to compete and continue to evaluate every single day at the quarterback position just like we do at every position. I felt he handled the elements a little better. He did a nice job and gave us a lift off the bench. Prior to [the interception], we were just trying to get out of the half. But when we get the pick and the good field position, we`ve got to take our shots down the field. We were going to take three of them there because there was still enough time that we could have done something. That ended up being a really big cushion if you look at the entire football game. [Miller] is without question the leader of the offensive line, I thought we moved the ball for the most part through the air fairly effectively when we weren`t throwing it to the other guy. It`s difficult to win games when you have a lot of turnovers. We gave a good account of ourselves, but Reed-Custer gradually wore us down. Pivonka had a good game running the ball. He just kept hammering away at our defense and that wore us down late in the game. | ||
