Debby Ryan (born May 13, 1993, in Alabama[1]) is an American teen actress, singer and voice actor. Ryan is better known for her role as Bailey Pickett on the Disney Channel television series, The Suite Life on Deck. From a young age, she was involved in basic theater productions and shows in a public school in North Texas. She moved to Germany when she was 7 years old and got involved in professional theater production. It was after she moved back to the United States at the age of ten that she realized that she wanted to act full-time.[2] Ryan can speak a little German along with English, her primary language. Ryan debuted in 2007 as a guest character in Barney: Let`s Go to the Firehouse, she played the role of a teenager. She was in the Ice Cube movie The Longshots, alongside teen actress Keke Palmer. Ryan played mean girl, Edith in the film.

Ryan is a series regular, Bailey Pickett in Disney Channel Original Series The Suite Life on Deck. The series is a sequel/spin-off to the hit Disney Channel series, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. The series` pilot aired on September 26, 2008 in the US.[4] The series premiere on the Disney Channel in the US drew 5.7 million viewers,[5] and it became the most-watched series premiere in Canada on the Family channel.[6]

The series was 2008`s #1 top scripted television series for children between the ages 6 to 11 and pre-teenagers between the ages 9 to 14, beating the veteran series Hannah Montana and Wizards of Waverly Place in the ratings.[7] Ryan is working on an animated series for Disney Channel UK called My Mate Flynn, in which she plays Tina. Besides acting, Ryan is also a song writer and is writing a screen play.

Ryan is also a songwriter and is currently working on music alongside her older brother.[8] Ryan has showed many interest in several types of music and her music genre will be mainly jazz and country pop with a blend of alternative rock. Ryan will headline the "Terrific Teen Tour", alongside Mitchel Musso, Jasmine Richards and Savannah Outen, this will be her first live musical tour. Her first performance will be at the Wachovia Arena at Casey Plaza on July 9th, 2009.[9]
