Bob Newhart Biography

George Robert "Bob" Newhart (born September 5, 1929) is an American stand-up comedian and actor who is best known for playing psychologist Dr. Robert "Bob" Hartley on the popular 1970s sitcom The Bob Newhart Show and as innkeeper Dick Loudon on the popular 1980s sitcom Newhart. He also appeared in film roles such as Major Major in Catch-22, and Papa Elf in Elf.

Bob Newhart is one of my all-time favorite comedians of all time. My best description of him is that Bob is the funniest straight man in the business. Better yet, of all time.
