Arthel Neville (born October 20, 1962 in New Orleans, Louisiana), is an American journalist and television personality. Arthel is the daughter of Art Neville, founder of the New Orleans music groups The Meters and The Neville Brothers. She graduated from St. Mary`s Dominican High School in New Orleans. She began her career while a junior at the University of Texas at Austin School of Journalism.

Neville married Dallas Cowboys running back Derrick Lassic in 1995; they later divorced in 1998. In 1999, Neville was in New Orleans, backstage at an Isaac Hayes concert during the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, when she met Taku Hirano, Hayes` percussionist. After a two-year relationship, Hirano asked Neville`s parents for permission to marry her. It was granted. Neville told Essence Magazine: "Of course the initial hope in any Black family is that you will marry someone Black. But ultimately they want you to have someone who loves you and is good to you". Hirano proposed on a gondola in Venice, Italy, the couple married on a beach in Hawaii in 2001, and they honeymooned in Japan, where Neville met Hirano`s extended family.

Arthel co-hosted Fox`s Good Day Live with Steve Edwards and Debbie Matenopoulos, hosted Celebrity Hobbies on the DIY Network, and served as a correspondent for the 2005 revival of the syndicated news magazine A Current Affair.
