Angellica Bell (born 24 March 1977 in London) is an English television and radio presenter.
Bell was educated in Ealing, West London at Notting Hill & Ealing High School. She later earned her BA Honours degree in Politics. Bell joined CBBC in May 2000. She became its main anchor of shows, including That`s Genius!, Xchange, 50/50 and Short Change. She also presented EastEnders Xtra. A cellist and pianist, she has also co-presented BBC Radio 3`s Making Tracks programme for children. From 2004 to 2005 she presented CBBC`s The Saturday Show. She presented Holiday Hitsquad, the BBC travel programme formerly known as Departure Lounge. On 1st December 2006, Bell announced she was leaving CBBC. Bell`s break into adult-mainstream programming appeared on BBC One where she presented The Great British Village Show, with Alan Titchmarsh and James Martin, which was broadcast in the spring of 2007. Between 3 March and 16 March 2007, Bell appeared in the celebrity Comic Relief does Fame Academy. Also in 2007, she presented Dance Xtra for BBC Three and Children in Need. She is currently one of the presenters on the new series of The One Show. In Autumn 2008 she hosted the CBBC show with a twist Election, and the ITV2 reality show CelebAir. Angellica Bell, returned to CBBC in 2008 to host the first ever political reality television show for children called Election. She presents the show (as the main presenter) and goes to all the tasks, life of skills tests and elimination`s with the contestants. Bell is said to have been filming CelebAir at the same time. In Election, political journalist; Jonathan Dimbleby is the series judge who decides who stays in the Leadership House. The show ends in the Houses of Parliament, where the two best contestants will battle it out for the chance to meet the current British Prime Minister, Gordon Brown. Bell works regularly for a number of different charities and is on the board of governors at her local school In March 2008 she announced her 14-month marriage had ended and that she was in a relationship with TV presenter Michael Underwood. She has run the London Marathon in 2002 and the Great North Run four times, with her quickest time being 1 hour and 42 minutes. |
