Andrew Stevens (born Herman Andrew Stephens on June 10, 1955, Memphis, Tennessee) is an American film producer, director, and former actor who is the son of Mississippi-born actress Stella Stevens and Noble Herman Stephens, also of Mississippi (as per the periodical Contemporary Theatre, Film & Television (volume #7, ISBN#0-8103-2070-3 and ISSN#0749-064X)). He is currently married to Robyn Stevens, by whom he has three children.
Andrew Stevens was named one of the most prolific producers in Hollywood in the “Hollywood Reporter” trade magazine in 2001. His motion picture producer credits number well over 100, including films for wide studio theatrical release such as “The Whole Nine Yards” starring Bruce Willis (Warner Bros.), specialty films such as “The Big Kahuna”, starring Kevin Spacey (Lionsgate), films for television such as “Topper” (ABC), “The White Raven” (HBO) and a tremendous volume of direct to video/DVD films starring the likes of Steven Seagal, Wesley Snipes, and Dolph Lundgren. Prior to his producing career, Stevens was also a writer, director, and celebrated actor. His acting credits include appearances in movies, television and stage productions. He was nominated for a Golden Globe award for his performance in 1978’s “The Boys in Company C” (Columbia Pictures)( http://www.goldenglobes.org/browse/member/28293). In the early 90s, Stevens left the public eye and became an independent entrepreneur writing, producing, directing and financing his own films for his own companies. His largest visibility as a film company executive was his tenure as President and COO of Franchise Pictures, which produced numerous films for Warner Bros. from 1997 to 2002.
