Alexa Kenin was an American actress known for her supporting roles in several films released during the 1980s, including Pretty in Pink, Little Darlings, and Honkytonk Man.
A native of New York City, Kenin decided she was interested in acting after seeing a production of The Nutcracker at the age of three [3]. Her first professional role was opposite Jason Robards in the 1972 television movie House Without a Christmas Tree. She was featured in several ABC After School Specials and in the 1982 TV film A Piano for Mrs. Cimino opposite Bette Davis.
On the stage, Kenin appeared in John Guare`s Landscape of the Body at The Public Theater in 1977, an off-Broadway production of Jack Gilhooley`s Elusive Angel, and in Life Under Water by Richard Greenberg at the Ensemble Studio Theatre`s Marathon `85.
Kenin was found dead under mysterious circumstances in her Manhattan apartment soon after making Pretty in Pink, which is dedicated to her and Bruce Weintraub, the film`s set decorator. Her last film, Animal Behavior, was released in 1989.
