 We had a chance to get to him tonight, but it seems like he has an ability to step it up when he gets in trouble, and he did that tonight, ... There aren`t many times when you`re going to be able to hold that lineup to two runs that late in the game, so it was frustrating because we weren`t able to get it done. It`s very comforting to look in today`s starters and see his name. There`d be an awful lot of guys on base, that`s for sure. The guy hitting behind those two would have 300 RBI opportunities in one season. With him, it can happen anytime. It doesn`t matter if he does it the last week or whenever. I think we have to be careful of not sitting back and watching and not relying on it. We`re not going to put all of our eggs in that basket, it`s too dangerous. We have a nice offensive roll going and we`re not going to rely on one person. Bonds and Vladdy (Guerrero)? The rest of us would have to remember to hit, because we might get caught up watching the show. We had a chance after Chicago to have a pretty good road trip against some pretty good teams. It`s unfortunate Oakland won tonight and we lose, but it probably won`t be the last time that happens. It`s frustrating to not be able to put a roll together, ... really frustrating. | ||
