When Tom Cruise was but a youngster and not yet used to doing his infamous red carpet walkabouts, he starred in a film called ‘The Outsiders’. Little did he know that the film would not only launch his career, but those of Matt Dillon, Patrick Swayze, Emilio Estevez, Rob Lowe and Ralph Macchio who went on to star in the cult ‘Karate Kid’ films. Not bad going for one job, as Cruise also had an encounter in 1985 with his co-star Diane Lane.
