Tom and Nicole met on the set of their movie "Days of Thunder" and married on Christmas Eve 1990. They did not have any biological children, but adopted two. They did however make two more movies together, "Far and Away" and "Eyes Wide Shut." The two split after 11 years of marriage in 2001. Nicole was pregnant but had a miscarriage due to the shock of Tom leaving. He said "Nic knows exactly why we are getting the divorce." Scientology likely played a part in their split. Their divorce was finalized six months after their separation, on August 8, 2001.
