Portia de Rossi said she met Ellen DeGeneres in about 2000 and although there was chemistry, she didn`t pursue it. Portia said in an interview in The Advocate "I ran into Ellen at a photo shoot [in 2004] and she took my breath away. That had never happened to me in my life, where I saw somebody and [experienced] all of those things you hear about in songs and read about in poetry. My knees were weak."
When you`re as famous as Ellen DeGeneres, it`s hard to keep things private. Ellen and Portia began their relationship in December 2004, after seeing each other again at VH1`s Big in `04 awards show.
