Along the way to college, Brooke somehow managed to have some "normal" childhood experiences - like participating in a school internship at the San Diego Zoo and developing a ghastly crush on singer George Michael (who later revealed to the world that he was gay). Of course, what made Brooke`s crush different than any other high school girl`s was that she actually met and started to date the superstar. However, while she was smitten, George was not. He dumped the young, sensitive Brooke the week before she left for college. She cried for a week.
Scandalized pop star George Michael tells Britain`s Q magazine that he almost seduced Brooke Shields years ago -- when she was still known as America`s most famous virgin. But, he says, when they entered her bedroom "for what I thought was going to turn into the Real McCoy," Brooke`s bed was surrounded by yellow police tape. Michael says that`s when her mom, Teri Shields, and a security guard jumped out of hiding, yelling "Surprise!" Michael says the next day he told Shields "we wouldn`t be seeing each other any more."
“Oh, I had such a crush on him. And you know, I think he sort of had a crush on me. I remember Boy George when he saw the two of us together. He was like, "It makes me so happy." I`m sure George was like, [rolls her eyes] "U-u-ugh." I don`t even think I confused him. I wish I could say I did. We had a really good time, but I went to college after that with a broken heart, thinking every song after that was written about me.”
