Anne Shirley`s second marriage, to producer Adrian Scott, took place on February 9, 1945. They’d known each other for several years, but working together on what would prove to be Anne’s final feature film, Murder My Sweet, resulted in romance and marriage. After the war, her husband, Adrian Scott, who produced Crossfire and So Well Membered, was blacklisted due to his communist connections. As one of the Hollywood Ten, he was sentenced to a year in prison and fired by RKO. Anne by this time was too fragile to stand up to the turmoil of all this. Scott and the increasingly vulnerable Anne separated and were divorced on August 23, 1948.
