In the days before his death on Friday, DJ AM was "completely devastated" over his recent breakup with model Hayley Wood, according to anonymous sources quoted in TMZ and People.com. The sites reported that Wood called off the relationship several days ago.

"She ended it, and he didn`t want it to end," a source reportedly told People. "The breakup hurt him. He hadn`t been in a good place lately. For the past week, he wasn`t really around, he was keeping to himself, and he was blowing people off."

Meanwhile, TMZ reported that a woman believed to be Wood was at AM`s New York apartment on Friday night. The woman was described as "visibly shaken" as she ran from the apartment to a taxi with a friend by her side.
